CNR Immunology Network 10th Anniversary
November 11th, 2026 Sala Marconi, CNR
Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, Rome, Italy
A decade of research and collaboration
Scientific advances, therapeutic innovation, and future perspectives for Immunology at CNR
Established in 2016, the National Research Council (CNR) Immunology Network (CIN) was founded by researchers from different Institutes of the Department of Bio-Medical Sciences with the aim of fostering collaboration across diverse fields of immunological research. Over time, the Network has expanded to include scientists from Institutes, including other CNR departments, as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Agriculture and Food Sciences, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of immunology. Since its foundation, CIN has played a kay role in promoting scientific exchange and facilitating multidisciplinary collaborations and strengthening interactions among basic, translational, and clinical research within the CNR.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, CIN is organizing a scientific meeting dedicated to the Network’s achievements and exploring future perspectives in immunological research. The event will bring together researchers from across the CNR to discuss recent advances in immunology and their impact on biomedical research and public health.
The program will feature scientific presentations and poster sessions by CIN members, focused on innovative vaccination and diagnostic approaches, immunotherapy, nanotechnology and translational biotechnology, immunogenetics, and precision medicine.
Two keynote lectures will be delivered by internationally renowned immunologists: Dr Rita Carsetti, from Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, President of the International Union of Immunological Societies, and Prof. Paola Bonfanti, from the Francis Crick Institute, London.
The meeting will also highlight the Network’s commitment to public engagement and outreach activities, aimed at strengthening dialogue between science and society and increasing public awareness of immunology.
The meeting will conclude with a round-table discussion aimed at promoting new scientific and institutional collaborations, identifying future priorities for the Network, and shaping a shared vision for the role of immunology in advancing biomedical research and addressing major public health challenges.
As CIN enters its second decade, this anniversary celebration provides an opportunity to honor the achievements, partnerships, and collective efforts that have shaped CIN since its foundation. and, at the same time, it offers a renewed vision for the future, inspiring new generations of researchers to build on this legacy and continue advancing immunological research through innovation, interdisciplinarity, and scientific collaboration.
