Activities

• Investigation of the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating immunological self-tolerance and regulatory T (Treg) cell homeostasis.

• Characterization of the metabolic pathways and molecular programs governing Treg cell differentiation, stability, and function in physiological and pathological conditions.

• Study of the interplay between immune responses and cellular metabolism in health and disease, with a particular focus on autoimmune disorders, including Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), as well as infectious diseases.

• Study of the immunological mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of obesity.

• Effects of diet-based therapeutic strategies in the modulation of immune tolerance

• Identification and validation of novel biomarkers for disease prognosis, progression, and therapeutic response in autoimmune diseases, particularly MS
