Activities

Cancer immunology and immunotherapy, with particular emphasis on innate immunity (natural killer cells, neutrophils, macrophages, and microglia) and immune surveillance of tumor cells upon chemotherapy. Induction of cellular senescence as stress response to antitumor drugs and its immunomodulatory effects.  Characterization of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), an inflammatory secretome of senescent cells that drives chronic inflammation during cancer progression and ageing. Microbiota impact on the functions of the immune system against brain tumors.
